November Wine Club

Bora Tier

Rive Droite, Côtes du Rhône Heidelberg

There's nothing like keeping a case of Côtes du Rhône at home for instant pleasure. This is a full-bodied, spicy red wine that's packed with black fruit aromas. A bottle to please anyone looking for a rich, everyday wine. Vibrant, juicy and lush. Spiced cigar tobacco, earth tones and loads of fresh, ripe berries are bold and balanced with considerable depth.

La Patience, Coteaux du Pont du Gard Merlot

Deep cherry red in the glass with purple highlights. The nose on this charmer is full of baking chocolate, ripe plums and sweet herbs. The palate is ultra-ripe with loads of crushed blackberry, plums and waves of garrigue-infused minerality.

Henri Ehrhart, Jean Rosen Alsace Pinot Blanc

A Pinot Blanc made from 20+ year old vines grown on gravel and aged in stainless tanks. Bright and seductive with elegant white peach notes framed by a clear salinity, this is a textbook example of mineral-driven Pinot Blanc.

Le Mistral Tier

Mauro Molino, Langhe Dolcetto

Pretty note of rose petals, plums, cherries and fresh herbs. In the mouth, medium tannins + nice acid. Bright fruit, savory finish, with a plum undercurrent. A great wine on its own, and versatile with lighter dishes as well. In a word, a banger.

Viña Zorzal, Navarra Graciano

Top example of Graciano as a varietal. Inky, with blackcurrant, fruit peel, jam and raspberries. Red fruit notes on the finish and nice rich tannins and juicy structure. Slightly bitter and green notes true to Graciano, before a long & satisfying finish.

Cuvee Vielles Vignes Lieu-dit Champagne Domaine De La Grand'cour Fleurie

Just below the Clos is the historic, 1.5 hectares terroir known as Champagne, containing the oldest, lowest yielding vines in the Dutraive arsenal (70-100 years old).

Lieu-dit Champagne is Jean-Louis Dutraive's most alluring wine. It is a reference for the grand potential of Gamay, offering a wine that is rich and joyful with a long capacity for aging. According to Jean-Louis, the vineyard name simply means "champagne" or countryside in local dialect, and since the name predates the famous sparkling wine, the Beaujolais is granted historic authority to use it on their labels.

Traditional vinification in concrete without sulfur and with natural yeast at very low temperatures. Carbonic maceration and little or no filtering. Jean-Louis' motto in the cellar is "minimal intervention and maximum surveillance”.
